Rosaleen writes: This is the postcard that my grandpa Eric dropped from what was presumably his first solo trip during his training as a kite balloon observer. He requests Will finder kindly post. Date of finding. The postmark shows that it was found the very day it was dropped, 10 May 1917, and posted from St Albans to his parents, Harry and Fannie, in Cheadle Hulme.
